Sigatoka River Safari Jet Boat Cruise

Fiji's original jet-boat safari, Sigatoka River Safari offers all guests a half-day, uniquely Fijian adventure into the "Heart & Soul of Fiji" aboard custom-built safari jet boats. You will be pick you up from your resort and transfer you to our base in Sigatoka town. From there you enjoy a 17 km scenic cruise into the Sigatoka valley, discovering the fertile area known as the “salad bowl” of Fiji. You arrive at our departure point surrounded by Fijian natural beauty, here you are provided with your life jackets and safety briefing by your jet boat captain and then it’s time to board.

As you begin your journey up the awe-inspiring river you will hear about the history of the region, including its cannibal past! Children from the many villages that line the river wave as we cruise past, and the water is so clear you will be able to see fish and rocks lining the river bottom. When you reach your village destination, you are given a warm welcome by the villagers. Sigatoka River Safari is careful to visit a different village every day, to minimise the impact of tourism on the village lifestyle in this remote part of the world.

You will then visit the village Chief’s bure (house) or community hall and take part in a kava ceremony, before a tour of the village and a traditional Fijian lunch, including wonderful fresh tropical fruit. Your village visit ends with traditional Fijian singing and dancing and it’s time to board your jet boat again for the return trip.

Horse riding is available at extra cost.

What to bring
Sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt, bottle of water, dry change of clothes for the trip back to your hotel, and a good pair of river shoes.

Morning tour departs Sigatoka Town at 8:30 am and returns at 2:00 pm.
Afternoon tour departs Sigatoka Town at 1:00 pm and returns at 5:45 pm.

Please account for travel time from your hotel/resort on top of this. Travel time from Nadi is approximately 1.5 hours each way.

Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of tour departure will incur a charge of 50% of total services booked.
